Meet Tim & T.J.
Tim and T.J. Gang are a father-son duo
who’ll make you rethink acoustic music.
Tim Gang
Singer/songwriter Tim Gang has been performing for over 50 years.
Tim formed his first band, Dark Horse, with classmates while attending Central Catholic High School in Canton, Ohio. While this group played a variety of music during its three years, it also allowed Tim his first opportunity to write and perform original music. It was during this time that he began independently playing acoustic music. Although Tim continued collaborative projects over the following years, heading up bands such as Timothy, Saber, Omen, Legend, and Gemini, his heart always remained in his acoustic work.
Having performed at many events and venues, he eventually became a member of local rock band Cold Brew and later L.A. Dead Ringer. Upon his departure from Dead Ringer, Tim opted to be true to his passion and remain a solo acoustic performer, despite a myriad of opportunities with other bands and projects.
T.J. Gang
T.J. Gang began performing at a very young age.
His talent was immediately evident upon picking up the drum sticks at the age of six. Just a few years later, he was performing as a guest with his dad and other accomplished adult musicians. It was around this time that T.J. showed interest in the guitar. Once again, T.J. excelled, and his first band, Naked Carwash, won their school’s talent show.
While leading the percussion section in his high school’s marching band and playing guitar in the jazz band, he still found time to play lead guitar in yet another band, Corporation T-Shirt.
Various local bands continued to feature T.J. as a guest musician, and by 2009, he was joining his dad, Tim, more regularly. T.J.’s skill and dedication added an entirely new dimension to Tim’s acoustic shows. It was at this time that they decided to join forces and become a duo.
His impeccable guitar solos and strong vocals have continued to wow, gaining him widespread attention and a solid fan base.
As if that doesn’t keep him busy enough, T. J. is an accomplished recording engineer and seasoned songwriter. He is looking forward to producing and directing a Tim & T.J. Gang compilation in the near future.
